Tesla China is paving the way for sustainable transport, one success after another. The news this time is that Tesla China took the cake with the largest Supercharging station in the world, having just opened the station just before the end of 2020. Jay in Shanghai shared the news on Twitter. In his topic, Jay shared some photos of the Supercharging station, which looks like a garage dedicated only to loading Tesla vehicles.

The largest Tesla Supercharging station in the world is located in the center of Shanghai. In June of last year, we reported that Tesla embarked on a mission to expand its Supercharger network in China. According to a report by the Global Times, Tesla planned to install 4,000 new Superchargers in China before the end of 2020. And with Jay’s current news and tweets, it appears that Tesla is keeping that promise. We still don’t know the exact number added, but several important stations have been added recently, and certainly many other normal Supercharger stations.

More compressors in China
Jay too shared news another milestone established by Tesla China on this topic. When asked how many new stations Tesla installed in December, Jay replied that the 500th Supercharger station opened in mainland China in late November and there are now 650 stations across China, which means that about 150 were added in December .

Supercharger Tesla China 2014–2020 Timelapse
Time slots are one of the best ways to see progress flourish and prosper. Jay shared one on Twitter that shows the first Tesla China Supercharger in Shanghai in 2014 and continues to the world’s largest Supercharging station that just went online before 2020 came to an end.

In China, Tesla has made incredible progress. Jay noted that this progress included better charging experiences this year. I have written to CleanTechnica for over a year, and looking at the progress I’ve made from the outside in, I can see that it goes well beyond the growth of the charging station. I have long predicted that China would love the Tesla brand and that Tesla would thrive in that market. We are starting to really see this.
I just reported that the Model Y made in China is now being delivered in China, and new sales estimates from Tesla show that Tesla sales in China reach almost 150,000, behind only approximately 205,000 in the US. Furthermore, it is actually the largest market in the world for Model 3 sales, with what appears to be more than 50,000 more Model 3 sales than the US.
