New Year’s Day in Pasadena, California: Time to parade, right?
Some Trump supporters thought so on the Friday after the Tournament of Roses Parade – a long Southern California tradition starting each year – was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
At least 600 vehicles participated in the event along the usual route of the Parade of Roses. Many vehicles sported American flags on their windows or in the truck body – and drivers honked their horns as they walked down Colorado Boulevard.
“Trump 2020” flags and patriotic “Don’t tread on me” banners were also seen in videos posted on social media.

In Orange County, cities like Huntington Beach hold regular protests against what they see as severe restrictions.
Newsom, a Democrat, has faced a recall effort that appears to be gaining momentum with donors.

The annual Rose Parade typically pours about $ 200 million into the local economy, FOX 11 reported – just another source of revenue that local traders have lost since the pandemic began.
Meanwhile, the annual Rose Bowl football game, which is part of the region’s New Year tradition, has been moved out of the state for the second time in its long history. Friday’s game was played more than 1,400 miles away in Arlington, Texas, because of concerns about the coronavirus in California.
