From Good Housekeeping
Just before the new year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle updated the website for their new nonprofit organization, Archewell. The site was launched in October with just one landing page, but now the couple has developed it, adding pages for the Archewell Foundation, Archewell Audio and Archewell Productions.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also added “A letter for 2021” to the home page, along with black and white photos of Harry and Meghan’s childhood with their mothers, writing “I am my mother’s son. And I am the mother of our son. Together, we bring you Archewell. “Harry’s photo appears to have been taken while he was sitting on Princess Diana’s shoulders in Highgrove in 1986.
In the short message, they ask the audience to join them as they “work to build a better world, one act of compassion at a time”. At the bottom of the home page, there is also a place for visitors to submit their stories “about how you or someone you know acted with compassion in the past year” or “describe when you felt connected to your friends, family or community, despite the distance. “
On the Archewell Foundation website, Harry and Meghan listed a number of partnerships and projects that the nonprofit is undertaking, including those with the James R. Doty Compassion and Altruism Education and Research Center (CCARE), Technology Center Human by Tristan Harris, Rachel Cargle’s Loveland Foundation, Dr. Safiya Noble and Dr. Sarah T. Roberts ‘UCLA Center for Critical Internet Inquiry, and José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen.
The Archewell Audio page features the first episode of Archewell Audio, Harry and Meghan’s new podcast with Spotify, as well as a brief description of the production company’s goals: “producing programming that elevates and entertains audiences worldwide” and “highlights diverse perspectives and voices”, as well as “building community through shared experiences, powerful narratives and universal values”.
And finally, the Archewell Productions page contains a description of the couple’s newly created video producer, which was launched after Harry and Meghan struck a historic deal with Netflix earlier this year. “Archewell Productions will use the power of narrative to embrace our shared humanity and duty to the truth through compassionate lenses,” says the page.
Archewell’s press secretary Toya Holness said City and Countryside, “Founded earlier this year by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell elevates communities through non-profit partnerships and creative activations. It is a place where compassion is important, communities come together and narrative is the engine. The website has been updated to reflect the work Archewell has done throughout 2020 and to create a place for people and communities around the world to share their stories. “

I am my mother’s son.
And I am the mother of our son.
Together, we bring you Archewell.
We believe in the best of humanity.
Because we saw the best of humanity.
We have experienced compassion and kindness,
From our mothers and strangers.
Faced with fear, struggle and pain,
It can be easy to lose sight of that.
Together, we can choose courage, healing and connection.
Together, we can choose to put compassion into action.
We invite you to join us.
As we work to build a better world,
One act of compassion at a time.
