South Shore teenagers tried to call in the New Year with a little ‘rona, police said

Duxbury Police report children from all over the south coast were having a great time celebrating the beginning of the new year at a party on Federal Eagle Road last night when the police arrived to destroy the party.

Police said they managed to identify 17 of the youth, who came from several South Shore cities, but that other teenagers managed to escape from the police.

Zachary Hamadeh, 18, and a resident of the party house, has been accused of distributing alcohol to minors and is likely to face additional charges for violating Covid-19 party restrictions.

The police add that they have notified local schools and public health officials to prepare for the impact. School officials in other Massachusetts cities, when faced with similar parties, typically switch to home classes for two weeks.

Innocent, etc.
