Bandai Namco is working on an expensive game by Katsuhiro Harada

The surprises continue to arrive before the end of the year, as we now know that Bandai Namco is working on an extremely expensive project. There is some news coming out of Japan as we close in 2020, many of them stemming from a few different interview projects, one of them being Games Talk, which has been interviewing different high-profile developers about the year and its prospects for 2020. It’s Katsuhiro Harada, the man who currently serves as the director behind the Tekken series, as he briefly revealed that he is working on an entirely new project with Bandai Namco. What’s more, it is apparently expensive. Here is the quote.

What could be so big that Bandai Namco would invest a ton of money in it?
What could be so big that Bandai Namco would invest a ton of money in it?

“Well, honestly, I think this may be the most expensive development project in the history of Bandai Namco,” said Harada. “I think it’s amazing that the bosses approved this. Well, the approval was approved, only due to the coronavirus, we were not able to start the project properly.”

As for what could be, your guess is as good as ours. The safe bet would be something Tekken related, but we don’t think this is happening yet. The company is still going strong on Tekken 7 and with a seven-year gap between it and the previous game, we are assuming that a new addition is not yet in the cards. (Especially with the way the story ended.) Whatever it is, the project got off to a slow start due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so we probably won’t know much about it until the end of 2021, at the very least. For now, we will just have to relax and speculate about what it could be.
