“Star Wars” actor Tom Kane, who has lent his voice to different characters in the iconic franchise, may never be able to do voiceovers again, according to his daughter.
Kane, who is reportedly 58, suffered a stroke two months ago that left him with “weakness in the right side and damage to the center of his brain’s speech,” revealed his daughter Sam on her Facebook page on Wednesday.
Sam explained that his father is currently unable to “communicate verbally efficiently, nor read or spell”.
He is still competent and very much himself, but he can only say a few words now “, she continues in the post.

Although Kane said he is receiving “excellent care” in Kansas City, while doing occupational, speech and physical therapy, his daughter said he may not be able to continue a voice acting career in the future.
“We were warned by his neurologist that he cannot do Voiceovers again,” says the post on social media.

Despite the physical setbacks, Kane’s daughter confirmed that he “remains in a good mood and his extreme stubbornness helped him to show improvements in speech”.
The post also featured some recent photos of Kane with his family, as well as a comical photo of the actor standing next to a whiteboard that said, “Merry Christmas!”
Kane is best known for lending his voice to the roles of Jedi Master Yoda and Admiral Yularen in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, in addition to the 2008 film. He also played Admiral Ackbar in “Star Wars Episode VII: The Last Jedi “.

In addition, according to the actor’s IMDB page, the professional narrator – who started at age 15 – also voiced roles in “Archer”, “The Big Bang”, “Powerpuff Girls”, “Halloween: Awakening”, “Thor: God of Thunder, “” Robot Chicken: Star Wars III “and the video game” Fortnite “, among others.
