The goal recalls 480,000 pieces of children’s and children’s clothing at risk of suffocation

The target is recalling 480,000 babies’ and children’s overalls and swimsuits due to choking hazards, according to several warnings from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The recall covers approximately 299,000 Cloud Island children’s overalls and 181,000 Cat & Jack Infant-Toddler One-Piece Rashguard swimsuits.

According to the agency’s warnings, rashguards on swimsuits have defective zips that can break or detach, “presenting a risk of suffocation and laceration for children”.

The recall started after 27 of those incidents were reported, including “a laceration report”.

The Cat & Jack Summer Blue Lemon, Coral Icon Story Hawaiian and Moxie Peach Lemon swimsuits were sold online and at Target stores across the country.

Children’s overalls are also being recalled for defective inserts that can break or come off the garment, “posing a risk of suffocation, laceration and pinching for children,” according to the CPSC.

To date, there have been 16 reports of fit in the coveralls breaking, dropping or disappearing entirely. In some cases, the child would have been scratched and pinched.

This recall includes the Cloud Island Waterfront boutique baby jumpsuit, Cloud Island Little Peanut and True Navy Rompers, Cloud Island Little Wildflower and Joyful Mint Rompers, Cloud Island Oh Honeybee and Pink Rompers and Cloud Island Floral Fields and Mint Rompers.

The products were sold at Target stores across the country, as well as online at Target.com, GoogleExpress.com and Shipt.com.

In both cases, consumers must return the affected products for a refund, the agency said.
