Nintendo accidentally lists a Banjo-Kazooie Wii U game

Nintendo made a small mistake this week by accidentally listing Banjo-Kazooie coming to the Wii U Virtual console. Earlier today, some perceptive people on Game Watch saw a Japanese list of the original N64 title being advertised as coming to VC, along with another game called Blast Dozer, both made by Rare. In a few hours, however, the game was deleted from the site, arousing a lot of interest in what was really happening and asking some questions if it was a mistake or a hint of something else. An apology was later issued on the website, explaining that the list was a mistake and that there was no intention to launch any of the games on the Wii U VC. This makes sense, as everything that has to do with the console is practically dead.

However, it began to spark players’ interest in whether or not it could be an indication of something bigger on the horizon. Although Nintendo has made some releases here and there with the NES and SNES libraries on Nintendo Switch Online, they do have to expand into the mid-90s and enter 3D console territory. It has been rumored for over a year that we will see a version of the N64 appear on the NSO any day, but it never materialized. The same is true of the Game Cube and Wii rumors, but nothing happened. This will add some file to the N64 fire, but it is far from proof that the company is actually working on this release at the moment. However, we cannot say that we would not like to see the N64 appear there with Banjo-Kazooie as one of the titles. That said, we would also like Nintendo to add more to the SNES library, as there are several important games that have not yet been added to it.
