The Epic Games Store is offering one free game a day this December. The showcase of Fifteen daysthe creators of have been doing this for over a week and have distributed some fantastic games like Alien Isolation and Darkest Dungeon. The free game for December 30 is Torchlight II starting at 11 am, but that price tag will disappear exactly 24 hours later. This is one of the best free Epic Games Store titles for the Christmas season, especially if you love dungeon RPGs like Diablo, then you must act fast.
Torchlight II was released by Runic Games in 2012 as a continuation of a promising 2009 RPG. The game finally hit consoles in 2019. It was developed based on the Diablo-like the dungeon tracking formula from the first game and nearly perfected it.
Players control one of four exclusive classes – Engineer, Outlander, Berserker and Embermage – and set out on a journey to defeat the Alchemist, who has been corrupted by an evil entity called Ember Blight. From there, players can venture through many procedural-generated dungeons, battling hordes of enemies and collecting incredible items along the way.
Although the gameplay is quite normal for the genre, the combat remains very satisfactory, although it is easy to learn. The classes, mainly Engineer, also stand out from other RPGs that fit the same Dungeons and Dragons inspired lessons.
After winning the story, which should take about 20 hours, you will feel compelled to return just because of how simple it is, but fun to play and can double or triple the playing time. The procedural generation remains fresh and the loot is very well distributed to make the discoveries at the end of the game as satisfying as those at the beginning of the game.
Flashlight 2 supports cooperative multiplayer for up to 6 players as well. It was the first game in the series to do this, and this genre does its best when you are able to play and share the experience with others. If you can get some friends to redeem the game today too, you may have found your next addictive multiplayer game.
Even after eight years and the launch of a sequel, Flashlight 2 it still remains a fantastic dungeon RPG and a fan favorite of the series. Flashlight 2 still has more positive reviews than Flashlight 3 on Steam. If you’re a fan of RPGs, but you’ve never dived into this franchise, it’s better to try this free game than to spend $ 19.99 or more for your sequel on another platform.
However, you only have a short window to redeem this game, as it is free at the Epic Games Store for just one day. The deal was launched at 11 am Eastern on December 30 and will only be free until 11 am Eastern on December 31, where it will be replaced by the last free game of the year from the Epic Game Store.
A timer at the Epic Games Store will show you how much time is left to redeem it, but you need to act fast if you want Flashlight 2. Still, taking the time to rescue this game is worth it if you like to entertain dungeon crawlers.
