Nintendo unveils first Smash Bros. tournament from 2021

Earlier today, Nintendo revealed the first official Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament that will take place in 2021. Although the company portrayed itself as the villain for the vast majority of the e-sports scene after ending a major tournament last year, this is not preventing the company from holding its own events since they own the IP. The company made the revelation in Twitter through the official Japanese profile, announced that the “Star Tournament That Sparkles The Galaxy “will start this Friday, January 1, 2021. The event will run for three days and will have the Star theme where only star-related items like Star Rod and Super Sterling appear in the game for people to use. According to the tweet, tThe more you win in the tournament, the more luxurious spirits you get along the way.

The company didn’t really give a start date, which suggests it will probably start on JST, as it was announced in the Japanese social feed. Which means that most players will see the tournament really start while it is still 2020. This is not an official electronic sports event where you will win cash prizes or even a trophy from all of this, this is one of the online tournaments where you ‘Basically, I will play for sprites and personal pride. Many sports players are waiting to see if Nintendo will do something for Smash Bros. in 2021, when the COVID-19 vaccine starts to come out and things gradually return to normal. We are assuming that things will remain pretty much the same, as the company has given no indication that it will be part of any 2021 events or hold any friendly tournaments in addition to those in-game online events.
