Former Trump campaign attorney Sidney Powell said on Tuesday that Georgia’s electoral authorities may have “manipulated” the second round of the January 5 special election for Republican Senate representatives to win.
During Powell’s interview in The Rush Limbaugh Show, an interviewer asked whether she thought Republicans should vote in the state’s special elections, despite her belief that the state’s presidential elections were rigged to provide a result for Democratic President-elect Joe Biden.
“Well, my concern is that it will not matter how people vote in the dispute for Georgia,” said Powell. “Obviously it doesn’t matter how they voted across the country, does it?”

When the interviewer said he wanted Republicans to vote in the next special election “in incredible numbers,” he added, “I want all eyes on this because we cannot hand the Senate over to these people, Sydney.”
Powell then answered.
“Well, yes, I mean, the situation we are in now, I would suggest that everyone in Georgia appear on election day and do it again: vote for the Republican candidates en masse and see what happens,” said Powell, adding: ” And it could be that they even manipulated the system so that the two Republicans win so they can say, ‘Oh, see? No problem.’
Both Republicans and Democrats are closely watching the special race for the Senate because it will determine the party’s control in the U.S. Senate. The two disputes are between US Senate Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff against Republican Senator David Purdue and a dispute between Democratic candidate Raphael Warnock and Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler.
Trump, his deputies in the re-election campaign and his supporters criticized Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and Republican State Governor Brian Kemp for declaring that Biden won the state fairly, thus contradicting Trump’s claims and its supporters of widespread electoral fraud.
While working as a lawyer for Trump’s reelection campaign, Powell stated at a news conference on November 19, that “the massive influence of communist money across Venezuela, Cuba and probably China” compelled Republican and Democratic lawmakers to rig the election .
The manipulation, according to Powell, occurred by several Democratic and Republican candidates paying foreign governments to change the electronic ballot boxes to turn Trump’s votes into Biden’s votes and to change other votes enough to help other individual candidates win their electoral disputes. .
“We have no idea how many Republican or Democratic candidates in any state in the country paid to have the system manipulated to work for them,” said Powell. Powell did not present any evidence to support his claims.
On November 21, Powell appeared on the right-wing conservative Newsmax network, claiming to have evidence that 7 million votes were cast fraudulently for Biden’s benefit. She also accused Kemp and Raffensperger of taking bribes to participate in the alleged vote-sharing scheme.
On November 22, Trump’s re-election campaign said that Powell no longer had a formal role as a campaign attorney.
Powell’s statement about Kemp and Raffensperger’s corruption has potentially undermined Republicans’ chances in Georgia’s runoff, as some Republicans want to “punish” the local Republican party that helped validate Biden’s victory. Others simply distrust the electoral process, as Trump and his supporters say it was broken by massive fraud.
