Nebraska’s volleyball schedule is set after the Big Ten announced Tuesday’s entire conference schedule. The exclusive schedule for the conference is 11 weeks, with two games per week against the same opponent. The regular season competition runs from January 22 to April 3. The first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament will begin April 8-10. NCAA Regionals will be from April 15-17, with the NCAA Semifinals on April 22 and the NCAA Final on April 24.
Nebraska opens the season in Indiana on January 22-23. The Huskers then return home to face Northwestern (January 29-30) and Maryland (February 5-6) before traveling to New Jersey to face Rutgers on February 12 and February 13. The following week, the Huskers will host Minnesota on February 19 and 21, before heading to Wisconsin to face the badgers on February 26 and 27.
The Huskers open the month of March with a series away from home against Illinois (March 5-6). From March 13 to 14, the NU hosts the state of Ohio. The following week, Nebraska will face Iowa in a series of two games, in which each team wins a home game. The March 17 game will be in Iowa City, while the March 20 game will be in Lincoln. Nebraska ends the month at Ann Arbor when he competes against Michigan on March 26 and 27. The Huskers finish the regular season at home against Penn State on April 1 and 2.
“We are very excited to finally know who, where and when of our spring 2021 schedule,” head coach John Cook said. “The Big Ten and coaches worked hard to come up with a fair and competitive schedule for everyone. Playing the same consecutive team will really bring out the best in teams and coaches. Husker Nation will be cast to watch Big Ten volleyball.
“There is no room for error or play in the season. This schedule is like riding a horse in the Kentucky Derby. Get out of the gate and wait for a wild ride.”
