PS5 refueling updates for Target, Walmart, Best Buy and more

Sony’s PlayStation 5 game console has sold out at retailers across the country since its launch on November 12.

“The PS5 launch supply was significantly more fueled than the PS4 generation,” noted Piers Harding-Rolls, a game industry expert who runs Ampere Analysis earlier this month.

“Things were exacerbated by increased demand due to the larger installed base of active PlayStation users before launch and the general increase in interest in games in 2020,” added Harding-Rolls. The pre-sale demand was “great”, he said.

Previously, the Best Buy website was overwhelmed with traffic after causing restocking of the PS5 and Xbox Series X without specifying the exact times.

But Target may be the most promising place to potentially pack a PS5. The retailer was told it would have a refill available from December 28, but that did not materialize. However, it may still fall on Tuesday, with several replenishments reported for the Midwest, while some Target stores on the west coast and southern regions have been reported with available units, according to the Spiel Times.

Here, we see the latest PS5 refueling information from Target, Best Buy, Walmart and other sites.

Target PS5 Refueling

Target has been refueling the PS5 for the past few weeks and monitoring its website is your best bet. Refueling at Target typically falls between 3:00 am and 7:00 am ET. Availability varies by location, so check your nearest branch for the latest information. It is only available through “contactless handling or order picking” services and purchases are limited to one unit per customer.

Walmart PS5 Refueling

At the moment, the PS5 is sold out at Walmart, with the item page no longer available on the website and customers cannot place back orders.

The company notes, “We are working hard to give as many customers as possible the chance to secure the best gaming consoles this year, including the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S.

“To ensure that consoles reach as many homes as possible, we have quantity limits in place. Our agents cannot advise on what the limitations are or how they work, as this is proprietary information.

“We will make any stock available for purchase as soon as it is in stock. The item page will be available when the stock is back in stock.

“Keep an eye on Walmart.com or the Walmart app for updates,” advises the site.

Best Buy PS5 Refueling

The PS5, which can only be purchased on the Best Buy website for pickup on the sidewalk, is currently sold out. PS5 package offerings, which come with PS5 games or controllers and a higher price, may be replenished faster than console-only offers.

Newegg PS5 Refueling

Newegg’s PS5 offers are all bundled and are currently sold out. PS5 refueling usually takes place at 5 pm Pacific time, 8 pm Eastern Time. It is also worth checking out Newegg’s Twitter account, as the company occasionally tweets information about refueling when the next refueling is about to take place.

Costco PS5 Refueling

Costco’s PS5 package (which includes an additional controller, the Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Launch Edition game and a month-long subscription to PlayStation Now) are also sold out. There is no updated replenishment information.

PopFinder, BrickSeek and NowinStock PS5 Refuel

Inventory tracking sites like PopFindr, BrickSeek and NowinStock help to alert customers when a PS5 is back in stock, but some retailers are blocking services.
