Greg Norman detailed the serious symptoms of COVID-19 that “wiped him out” when he returned to the hospital after thinking he had overcome the worst of the virus.
The Australian golf legend, who lives in America, revealed a few days ago that his Christmas was ruined when he contracted coronavirus, as did his son Greg Norman Jr. What started out as “mild symptoms” quickly intensified and Norman endured pain like never before before.

Norman told his 191,000 followers on Instagram on Sunday that he was back in quarantine at home after an initial visit to the ER, still showing symptoms, but to a lesser degree.
However, needing two consecutive negative tests to ensure he was on the road to recovery and able to stay home, Norman’s second test was positive and he returned to the hospital.
The 65-year-old thanked the doctors and staff at the hospital where he is being treated in Palm Beach and said, “Getting an infusion of Bamlanivimab antibody. The road to full recovery. We hope to leave later today.”
Norman is in excellent physical shape and has in the past posted photos regularly on shirtless social media and explaining his dedicated exercise routine.
However, even though he was in good health, COVID-19 knocked the golfer down in a way he never experienced before.
“I’m fit and strong and I have a high tolerance for pain, but this virus kicked the shit out of me like nothing I’ve ever experienced before,” wrote Norman on Instagram.
“Muscle and joint pains on another level. Headaches that look like a chisel going through your head scraping bits and pieces each time, fever, muscles that just didn’t want to work like walking my Apollo dog yesterday my quadriceps and hip flexors just didn’t work I want to work due to tiredness.
“So my taste has failed where the beer tastes bad and the wine is the same. And finally, sometimes struggling with the memory of names and things. So there is irritation.”
Norman asked everyone to take the “horrible” virus seriously so they can avoid the battle he faced.
“So please, be careful. And for those who doubt there, don’t judge or make unjustified comments and opinions. I wouldn’t want anyone, not even you, to experience this horrible virus,” he said.
“For that, I ask, do what is right, not just for you, but for your family, friends, co-workers and other people around. I am luckier than most and for that I am grateful and blessed. In addition , the world is blessed and science has acted and acted like never before in obtaining a vaccine for everyone to eventually receive. Thanks to these people. We need to put our world back in healthy harmony so that we can stay healthy economically and prosperous way with millions and millions of people getting their lives back.

“God bless those infected and who may fall unintentionally into this virus. My prayers and thoughts go out to all of you. Once out of here, today, go back to quarantine.”
A week ago, Norman was playing the PNC Championship in Florida with Norman Jr. The pair finished ninth in the parent-child tournament, two places behind the team that made headlines for Tiger Woods and his 11-year-old son Charlie.
Norman Jr. revealed that he and his partner, Michelle, also contracted COVID-19, saying that his better half “was hit hard” by “four days of fever, body aches, migraines”.
Norman was quarantined after returning from the Florida PNC championship and tested coronavirus negative before and after the event as part of the PGA protocols.
However, four days in isolation, the two-time top winner began to develop symptoms and, on the advice of his doctor, was quarantined, before things got worse enough for Norman to go to the hospital for the first time.
