NBA referee: Oh, hey, sorry about that, Bulls

Oh, sure … NOW YOU SAY SOMETHING.

Do you remember how last night’s game against the Warriors ended? Of course you do. It was the first game of the year in which the Bulls had a real chance of winning at the start of the fourth period. But in case you missed the ending (or blocked it completely), the Warriors did it right after Zach LaVine gave the Bulls a (very) late one point lead:

Ball game.

Except … it really shouldn’t have been. At least, according to the NBA’s two-minute report:

NOT ONLY there should have been a five second breach, Kevon Looney * also * committed an offensive foul by setting a screen in Coby White, which you can clearly see in this longer video of the final play:

I mean, come on! Looney basically threw White’s body on the floor.

You hate to blame the referees – and maybe the Bulls shouldn’t have let it get that close anyway – but when there are TWO different ways that the other team should have screwed up, but it got away with it, it’s hard to swallow. Especially considering how blatantly obvious the two calls were (how you miss a five-second breach … come on). This is all made worse by the fact that the next two weeks on the Bulls’ schedule look HARD. This may have been the best chance of an early victory and was taken away from them. Twice.

Sigh. What will you do?
