He and his wife Nancy Shevell landed in St Barths on Saturday, escaping the UK’s COVID-19 restrictions on sunnier climates.

And Sir Paul McCartney seemed to be enjoying his well-deserved break by going to the beach for a quick dip in the sea on Sunday afternoon.

The Beatles star, 78, remained casual in a black surfing top and blue swimming trunks while he grabbed his red towel to dry off after his relaxing swim.

He seemed to be in an excellent mood while sunbathing while wandering barefoot on the sandy beach, still soaked from his dip in the crystal clear ocean.

Paul’s last appearance comes shortly after he and his wife Nancy, 61, were caught disembarking on their private plane at St Barths on Boxing Day.

The couple in love was seen masked, with sunglasses and hats, disembarking from their private plane.

Both are casual figures, wearing comfortable clothes for the flight.

‘It was only 10 because I didn’t know I was making an album.’

During confinement, Paul stayed in the field with his daughter Mary and her children.

On the experience, he continued: ‘I was very lucky. I was locked up with my daughter Mary and her family, and then I was able to go to the studio to work, it was a very safe place. We were distant, we were always very careful.

‘I was on vacation at the beginning of the year and then the lockdown hit me, so I came back and was locked inside.

Funny, McCartney was really planning to release his new album on December 18th – the day for which Swift ended up rescheduling Evermore.

‘And then she said,’ But I found out you were going to release on the 10th. So I moved on to the 18th ‘and she figured we were going to leave on the 18th, so she went back to the 10th,’ said McCartney. – So, I mean, you know, people get out of each other’s way. It is a good thing to do. ‘

Evermore was finally released on December 11, just two days before Swift’s 31st birthday.

Idris Elba meets Paul McCartney can be watched on the BBC iPlayer.
