Marquis Chriss of the Warriors fracture fibula

What does this mean for Chriss

Anthony Slater, Beat writer for the Warriors: Devastating to a former lottery player who disappointed his early seasons, jumped, almost lost the game and finally found a niche at home and rotation with the Warriors. Chriss was accommodating himself in a central role of consistent backup, serving as the great source of energy in a second accelerated unit that also had the green light of 3. Now he has a long rehabilitation ahead of him without an unrestricted free agency.

What does this mean for warriors

Slater: This leaves them with only two healthy centers. One of them, James Wiseman, is a promising newbie, but still a newbie. The other, Looney, spent most of last season dealing with health problems. They can be creative and give Draymond Green a lot of central minutes, but they were already thin by that point. It may be time to seek some outside help.

What are some possible responses?

Slater: At the end of the Warriors list, Alen Smailagic is a great theoretical excerpt. He’s in his second season, but he’s an extreme project and he’s probably not ready to contribute regularly, even in a minor role. They could test this idea (although he is dealing with a minor knee problem now) or use his spot on the list, Mychal Mulder (unsecured contracts) or release one of his two-way slots. The best name there is, probably: Dewayne Dedmon.
