Can Cleveland Browns win without any wide receivers?
We heard the news that the linebacker BJ Goodson tested positive for COVID-19. The team was conducting contact tracking and the news is not good: the entire Browns wide receivers group is out (those who have received playing time).
Browns officially placed four WRs on the Reserve / COVID list: Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and KhaDarel Hodge. Browns LB Jacob Phillip has also been added to the COVID list. Those five players are out on Sunday against the Jets.

That means the wide receivers available from Cleveland on Sunday are likely to be WR Marvin Hall, WR Ja’Marcus Bradley, and WR Derrick Willies. Combined, they don’t have a single catch all season for Cleveland. LB Montrel Meander is also being summoned by the training team.
This could be a week when the Browns use Kareem Hunt, Harrison Bryantand David Njoku in some wide receiver alignments, that they can really escape against a bad Jets defense. Also, you would have to think that Mayfield’s chemistry would be better with these guys than with the new receptors.
The Browns also have a quick first-rate attack, and if that disaster were to hit any NFL team, you would want it to go against the Jets. Nothing comes easy.
The Browns are due to leave Cleveland at 7 pm for New York after a delay of more than 4 hours.
