South Carolina hired two male and one female basketball players on Wednesday. Here are three things you should know about each of the new trios.

Devin Carter

1.80 m guard

Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, New Hampshire)

► Her father, Anthony Carter, has played for six teams over 13 NBA seasons and is currently a Miami Heat player development coach.

► Florida’s product school, Brewster Academy, won seven national school preparation championships starting in 2010 and the program has had 17 alumni playing in the NBA with 10 draft choices over the past 10 years.

► After suffering a shoulder injury in his last season, he reclassified to class 2021 and attended preparatory school.

USC technician Frank Martin: “Devin is long, in that 1.80 m range with very long arms, big hands, he fits the profile of the guards I like to train. He threw a point and threw it away. He is recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered in the last year of high school. Main reason why he went to prep school. But we are very excited about it. Another incredible competitor who is a great teammate. ”

Jacobi Wright

6-foot guard-2

Legacy Early College (Greenville)

► In addition to USC, he also received offers from DePaul, Charlotte, Elon, Charleston, Winthrop, South Florida, UNC Wilmington and Tennessee Tech.

► Ranked as the 196th player in the country by 247Sports Composite.

► Average of 17.4 points, 5.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game as a junior.

USC technician Frank Martin: “Jacobi is your final point guard. He is a leader, he elevates the talent of everyone around him. He’s fearless at the moment. He will be a tremendous addition to our basketball team, very vocal on the basketball court, always looking to help. Always looking to do more. He is very fun. He’s a pit bull. He is relentless as a competitor. ”

Bree Hall

1.5 m guard

Huber Heights Wayne (Dayton, Ohio)

► She chose the Gamecocks from the last seven schools she announced in May, which also included Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Texas and North Carolina.

►Your high school was 55-18 during its three seasons with its average double digit score each year and earning honors from Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association’s second All-Ohio Division-I team last season.

► She was among the 50 players this week nominated for the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy watch list for the award given to the national player of the year in high school.

USC trainer Dawn Staley: “Bree is an incredible young woman, a disciplined young woman from a disciplined family. We were first attracted by her versatility, her length, her ability to score, hit, kick and defend. All of these things were considered at the top of our list. We cannot wait until she comes to campus so that we can get our hands on her and really start to understand how to expand her game even further, because she is a player who loves asking questions and really wants to investigate everything and we love it about her. ”
