A deepfake Queen Elizabeth II delivered an alternative Christmas speech and even danced a Tik Tok choreography as part of a campaign alerting viewers to misinformation.
The digitally altered version of the British monarch aired on Channel 4 after the royal queen’s annual Christmas message was broadcast on the BBC and ITV on Friday afternoon.
“If there is a theme for my message today, it is trust. Trust what is genuine and what is not, ”says the false queen.
The station told CNN that the fake video was intended to be “a severe warning about the advanced technology that is allowing the proliferation of false information and false news in the digital age”.
At the changed address, a voice actor posing as Queen Elizabeth II mentions the departure of Prince Harry and Meghan from the monarchy and the removal of Prince Andrew from royal duties because of his relationship with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The fake queen is very cute, dancing around a palace room and mocking Harry and Meghan: “There are few things more painful than someone saying they prefer the company of Canadians.”
Buckingham Palace did not comment on the artificial queen.
