This Saturday, the South Carolina Gamecocks hope to fix the holes in a defense that has allowed an average of 35.44 points per game. The USC and the Kentucky Wildcats will face off in a SEC battle at 7:30 pm ET on Saturday at Kroger Field. Both teams will be looking for an invigorating after considerable losses in their previous games.
The Gamecocks found themselves reluctant recipients of a nasty 45-16 punch to the stomach against the Georgia Bulldogs last week. South Carolina’s defeat came despite a quality game by TE Nick Muse, who received eight passes for a TD and 131 yards. This reception effort made it the first game that Muse recorded over 100 reception yards.
In the meantime, things couldn’t have been much worse for the UK, as they lost 34-10 to the Florida Gators last week. The Wildcats were losing 31-10 at the end of the third quarter, which was too much to recover. QB Terry Wilson had a memorable game, but not in the way you would like to be remembered: despite a touchdown, he threw two interceptions with just 3.44 yards per pass attempt.
Gamecocks are the underdogs, so they hope it’s the size of the fight that determines this. Now may not be the best time to catch the USC against the spread, as they have disappointed bettors in the last five consecutive games.
