Warriors’ Steve Kerr reveals why James Wiseman changed his shoes before the game

James Wiseman was ready to represent his new shoe company, Anta, in the Warriors’ game against Charlotte Hornets, before a conversation with one of the team’s assistant coaches led to a quick change of shoes.

Steve Kerr spoke to the media on Saturday after the Warriors training, and the coach revealed why Wiseman made a last-minute wardrobe change.

“James before the game, took out a pair of tapirs,” explained Kerr. “Getting ready to use a pair of Gordan Hayward Antas and (Warriors video coordinator Jacob Rubin) Jacob told him ‘you can’t use Gordon Hayward Antas when playing against Gordon Hayward’ and then he changed, I think he changed for the Klay Thompsons. “

Wiseman still rocked Antas, but he was unable to swing the shoe of a player he was lining up against.

The rookie became the third Warrior to play with a shoe contract from Anta, after Thompson and his teammate Kevon Looney.

Wiseman had 16 points and four rebounds in his first game as an Anta athlete.
