Vintage Watches: A 1979 Rolex Submariner with Mark 3 ‘Lollipop’ Maxi Dial, The 1970 Heuer Monaco Ref. 1133B, and The 1970 Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Polaris II ‘GT’

Here, we have an example built for the European market, denoted by the stylized signature “GT” for “Grande Taille” or “large size” on the dial. On the other hand, the American version was signed with “HPG” for “Guarantee of high precision”, reflecting the internal high-beat movement that rotates at 28,800 vph. The watch was offered in brilliant turquoise blue, rich burgundy red, as well as this more discreet smoky gray. The condition of this piece stands out with its large compressor style box featuring the original sandblasting finish, the unusual gray swivel frame and the attractive patina on the fire on the dial and hands. In addition, it comes with its presentation box, international warranty, instruction manual and additional bezel and crystal, which appear to have been stored perfectly for decades. We don’t know when we will find another Polaris II in such good condition, with all the additional gifts, so take this bold piece while you can go to the Store!
