Venture back to the underworld to nestle in front of Hades’ excellent Christmas log

It’s almost a holiday, which means that, in the long-standing tradition of the internet, it’s also time for new Christmas themed videos. And this year brings an excellent new entrance: a fireplace lit in the House of Hades, from Supergiant Games’ Hades.

The video is in sharp 4K, showing the adorable art of the game (one of our favorites this year): the fireplace is decorated with golden skulls and opulent marble, while crawling pomegranates add a touch of color to the process. There are also the essential sounds of any good Christmas log: the roar of a fireplace, with the crisp, crisp sound of logs. (There is an Hades spin, with murmurs and echoes from the depths of the House whispering right at the edge of hearing.)

Yule’s record matches perfectly with Hades itself, which is on sale for $ 20 on the Nintendo Switch.

The new Hades the video joins the longstanding canon of excellent virtual fireplaces to curl up in front, like WarnerMedia’s Sauron Yule eye, Darth Vader’s corpse slowly burning, Nick Offerman’s relaxing Lagavulin whiskey session The VergeThe 2016 Yule log explosive gadgets themselves (celebrating the Galaxy Note 7 and the floating board fires that dominated that year’s headlines).

The video is only 12 hours long, but you can always restart it (and again, and again, and again) until the holidays are over (or you finally escaped the underworld).
