The Neighborhood soon you’ll be on the hunt for a new boss. Jim Reynolds, who created the CBS sitcom starring Cedric the Entertainer and Max Greenfield, is stepping down as showrunner and executive producer.

“I am very proud of The Neighborhood and I have done my best in the past three years to make this the best show possible, ”said Reynolds in a statement. “I am very happy that the show found an audience so enthusiastic and that it will live. I am excited to see the show thrive and I wish the best for everyone involved. “
The deadline, however, indicates that Reynolds also faced complaints “about comments and other race-related issues over a period of time.” This includes comments from two black writers who left the series after working on season three.
The series follows Dave Johnson (Greenfield) and his family, who move to a predominantly black neighborhood in Pasadena. He quickly realizes that not everyone, including his neighbor Calvin Butler (Cedric the Entertainer), is receptive to his extreme seriousness.
In addition to Greenfield and Cedric the Entertainer, the series also stars Beth Behrs, Tichina Arnold, Sheaun McKinney, Marcel Spears and Hank Greenspan.
The Neighborhood, which ended the third season in March, has already been renewed for a fourth season.
