Scottish woman bit the man’s tongue in the fight – then the seagull ate

He took a lick.

A Scottish woman bit part of a man’s tongue in a wild street fight – and a seagull promptly stepped down and swallowed it, officials said in a report.

Bethaney Ryan, 27, clashed with stranger James McKenzie, sparking an argument in Edinburgh on August 1, 2019, according to a prosecutor quoted by the Edinburgh Evening News.

After McKenzie walked towards Ryan with a “clenched fist,” she inexplicably kissed him – and then bit a 3-by-2-inch piece of her tongue, prosecutor Susan Dickson said in Edinburgh’s Sheriff’s Court on Thursday.

“She kissed him on the lips and, during the process, bit her tongue, which caused a piece of her tongue to be removed,” Dickson told the court.

After spitting out a bloody piece of the organ, a bird pulled it off the ground and ate it – making replacement surgery impossible, she said.

“Mr. McKenzie stepped away and spat out a part of his tongue, at which point the piece of muscle was grabbed by a large seagull that ran away with the piece of tongue,” said Dickson.

McKenzie was treated for “tongue laceration” after he started to “run blood,” said the prosecutor.

“He did not need surgery because the piece of tongue was no longer available and could not be replaced,” said the prosecutor.

Ryan, who was arrested, pleaded guilty to the attack on Thursday, according to the media. It was not immediately clear what motivated the discussion between her and McKenzie.
