The GO Rocket team from Pokémon Go is back with more special searches and another chance to challenge Giovanni. Beginning February 28, 2021, coaches can begin The Higher They Fly, a six-step Special Survey that rewards players with a Super Rocket Radar for tracking and defeating the GO Rocket Team boss. After all, what is Team GO Rocket?

Based on the original Pokémon antagonists, Team Rocket is an infamous criminal organization led by Giovanni. The group seeks to steal valuable Pokémon and force them to continue Giovanni’s efforts. In Pokémon Go, the group is very similar, known as Team GO Rocket. Basically, they are the bad guys who are missing from the game from day one.

Approximately once a month, you can complete a Special Survey to take on their leader, Giovanni, and potentially rescue a Legendary Shadow Pokémon from him. Although these special lines of research do not expire, you can only complete one per month, even if you have not completed the previous months, so be sure to complete one each month so you don’t miss out on another Shadow Legendary Pokémon.

Can I start now?

Probably, but, unlike some other special research, players must complete specific lines of special research to begin the growth of the dark threat. If you have not completed A Troubling Situation and a special rocket research line from the GO Team, you will have to finish first. Fortunately, A Troubling Situation is very fast, and we have a guide that will guide you quickly. You must also be at least Level 8 to start this Special Survey.

The higher they fly

After completing the previous GO Rocket team special research lines, you’ll find The Higher They Fly on your list of special research missions. This Special Survey is divided into six stages of three tasks each.

Step one

  1. Win a Raid for 15 PokéBalls.
  2. Defeat three GO Team Rocket Grunts by three Hyper Potions.
  3. Get a Shadow Pokémon for three Revives.

Completion rewards: ten Razz Berries, ten Nanab Berries, ten Pinap Berries.

Step two

  1. Take five Shadow Pokémon to obtain a Sunstone.
  2. Make three Nice Curveball Throws followed by 15 Great Balls.
  3. Pick up ten Flying Pokémon for a Doduo encounter *.

Completion rewards: 10 Mega Pidgeot Energy, 1,500 XP, 500 Stardust.

Step three

  1. Purify five Shadow Pokémon to 30 Mega Pidgeot Energy.
  2. Defeat five GO Team Rocket Grunts to earn 30 Mega Pidgeot Energy.
  3. Win three Candies walk with your Buddy Pokémon for 30 Mega Pidgeot Energy.

Completion rewards: Rocket Radar, encounter Pidgeot, 2,000 XP.

Fourth step

  1. Defeat the Go rocket leader, Arlo, for 1,250 XP.
  2. Defeat the Go Rocket Leader Cliff team for 1,250 XP.
  3. Defeat Team Go Rocket Leader Sierra for 1,250 XP.

Completion rewards: Super Rocket Radar, 2,500 XP, 1,000 Stardust.

Step Five

  1. Find Team Go Rocket Boss for five Max Potions.
  2. Fight Team Go Rocket Boss for 20 Ultra Balls.
  3. Defeat Team Go Rocket Boss for five Max Revives.

Completion rewards: Fast TM, Charged TM, 3,000 XP.

Step Six

  1. Automatically filled in for 2000 XP.
  2. Automatically filled for 2000 XP.
  3. Automatically filled in for 2000 XP.

Completion rewards: Premium Battle Pass, two Golden Razz Berries, two Silver Pinap Berries.
