Parker police launched a criminal investigation against Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller.
“The case is currently under investigation and no information can be released at the moment,” said Josh Hans, a Parker police spokesman, by email.
If investigators determine that a crime has been committed, the case will be referred to the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office for review, said Hans.
“We have no case,” said Vikki Migoya, a spokeswoman for a prosecutor.
Hans gave no further details about the investigation.
The Broncos have not released a statement about Miller’s investigation.
Miller, 31, lost the entire 2020 Broncos season after suffering an ankle injury in practice a week before the season opened against Tennessee.
Leader of all time in Broncos bags (106), Miller is expected to have a team record of $ 22.125 million in the 2021 salary cap, including a base salary of $ 17.5 million.
If the Broncos cut Miller, they could create $ 13.875 million in cap space.
Since joining Broncos in 2011, Miller’s only documented legal issue has been an arrest in August 2011, after failing to appear on misdemeanor charges. A month later, he was cited for driving with a suspended license and also pleaded guilty to three 2012-13 traffic violations. He was required to perform 24 hours of community service and take driving lessons.
In August 2013, he was suspended for six games by the NFL for violating the league’s drug policy to improve performance.
