At the end of last Saturday’s loss to the Dolphins, Trent Brown injured his knee. It was not immediately known because Brown did not miss a snap. He appears to have suffered an injury two minutes into the fourth half, but the play he was out on was a penalty, and he went back to the next move, so he officially played all the snap.
Even though Brown hasn’t looked injured in the past four games, his injury was apparently serious enough to make him miss training all week and be out for the end of the season in Denver. Sam Young will once again replace him in the right tackle.
Then, officially, Brown appeared in just five games this season, with one being the season opener, in which he played only three times before leaving with a calf injury. The team would end up playing as a reserve Denzelle Good for most of the game due to Young’s injury shortly after Brown left.
Brown would go to the injured reserve and return in week five against the Chiefs. Then, a week later, he would test positive for COVID-19 and go back to the shelf. He would end up sending the entire initial offensive line to the reserve / COVID-19 list along with initial security guard Johnathan Abram due to close contact without masks.
The 380-pound vehicle had a hard time with the virus and, in all, would end up missing two months, even after it no longer had it. Having lost him for 12 games this season was not what his coach expected.

Gruden and the Raiders generously paid Brown to make the right tackle for them, making him the highest-paid striker in NFL history.
In his first season with the Raiders, Brown lost five games. Which means that over two seasons with the team, Brown played a total of 16 games. He received $ 36.75 million for the equivalent of an entire season.
What that means for Brown’s future with the Raiders is difficult to say. He’s still only 27 years old, and Gruden at least looks like he plans to have Brown back next season.
