Florida officials catch young women dressed as ‘grandparents’ trying to get the COVID-19 vaccine

Two Florida women dressed as elderly in an effort to get the COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, report from several outlets.

The two women wore disguises that consisted of caps, gloves and glasses to appear to be over 65, the current vaccine age required in Florida, according to The Washington Post.

His plot failed when officials at the vaccine distribution clinic realized that the dates of birth on their licenses did not match the information provided. The women, aged 44 and 34, were then stopped by the authorities.

Images from the body camera of a deputy in the Orange County Sheriff’s Office showed the women being reprimanded for their efforts.

“You stole a vaccine from someone who needs it more than you do,” an official is heard saying in the footage, shared on Twitter by WSVN News.

The women received invasion warnings and said they would be arrested if they tried to return.

“You guys have to wait your turn,” another police officer can be heard telling them in the video. “You are lucky that you are not being arrested now.”

Despite being apprehended, the women’s stratagem seemed to have worked previously, as both had cards from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to check whether they had received the first doses of the vaccine, reports the Post.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to The Hill’s request for comment.
