In my opinion, Cyberpunk 2077 it is not quite the disaster that some have suggested. The game is fun. Insects are fun! The bugs that really, really were not fun were corrected. Refunds were widely available, and despite this option, the game sold 13 million copies in just two weeks.
But the publisher CD Projekt still has a broken reputation to fix and an investor process to fight for, so I wouldn’t put too much importance on the title you must have read today: that we will all get free DLC for the game in early 2021.
It’s possible! And this is totally what this official website promises. But that promise may be out of date.

Like Engadget points out, the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine shows that that promise may have been live on the internet the same day the game was released – before the outbreak started, and definitely before CD Projekt held an emergency conference call on December 15 for discuss how the company will react.
In that call (PDF transcript), CD Projekt president and co-CEO Adam Kiciński told investors that it was “too early to judge” when the company could launch the DLC.
Specifically, he was asked, “How do you feel about your ability to release some DLCs next year and, obviously, multiplayer in 2022?” (CD Projekt had previously said that multiplayer would lose 2021.)
The complete answer: “To be honest, it is too early to judge. At the moment, we are going to deal with the situation and we are going to do a few more assessments – this is still ahead of us; we don’t know yet, and now we are focused on improving Cyberpunk. We will discuss this early next year. “
We currently expect two major patches for the game in January and February, respectively, as the company promised on December 13th at your apology post:
In addition, some free DLC would be nice. Personally, I just want NPCs who can drive.
