‘Cyberpunk 2077’ patch targets save file limits on PC and crash on consoles

Another day, another patch for Cyberpunk 2077. Hotfix 1.06 is being released on PC and consoles (no word on Stadia, yet) and although console players benefit from improved memory management that should reduce game crashes (especially on PS4 and Xbox One systems with limited memory), the most important fix is on the PC.

There, players unfortunately discovered that if your saved file exceeds 8 MB (usually due to the creation or collection of many items, as noted on a GOG support page), it can be corrupted and you will lose progress in the game. The patch will not help those already affected, but the limit has been removed, but the 13 million players in the game (less any recent refunds) can download it now, with the update reaching less than a gigabyte on the PC, and about 15 to 17 GB on Xbox and PlayStation.
