CBJ acquires Laine, Roslovic de Winnipeg in exchange for Dubois

The Columbus Blue Jackets acquired the right wing Patrik Laine of the All-Star and the Jack Roslovic center of the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for the center Pierre-Luc Dubois and a third round pick in the NHL Draft 2022, club general manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Laine, 22, recorded 140 goals and 110 assists for 250 points, including 52-33-85 in power play, and 118 minutes of penalty in 306 NHL games since he was selected by Winnipeg as second overall choice in Draft 2016 of the NHL. He received 2-1-3 at the opening of the Winnipeg season against Calgary, but lost the last three games due to an upper body injury. After making his NHL debut against the Blue Jackets in his hometown on April 6, 2017, he split the 2017-18 campaign between Winnipeg and Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League before graduating to the NHL the following season.

Dubois, 22, was selected by the Blue Jackets with the third overall choice in the 2016 NHL Draft. Since joining the club in 2017, he has recorded 66-93-159 and 164 minutes of penalty in 239 career games, including a career record of 27-34-61 and 64 minutes of penalty in 82 games in 2018-19 . He added 8-11-19 and a 24-minute penalty in 26 career playoff matches.
