‘Bridgerton’ Breakout Rege-Jean Page joins ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ at Paramount (exclusive)

Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley – the duo behind New Line’s success Game night – are configured to direct the resource based on the popular fantasy RPG from Wizards on the Coast. Goldstein and Daley also wrote the latest version of the script based on an earlier draft by Michael Gilio.

The game of Dungeons & Dragons is known for its war games, treasure hunts, campaigns, camaraderie and fortune reversals, all in an environment that combines humans, elves, orcs and hundreds of other creatures. The game is famous for using data from multiple sides in gameplay and is overseen by a host known as the Dungeon Master. It is not known whether the film adaptation will be a pure fantasy film, set in the game world, or will incorporate the narrative and gameplay aspects.

Jeremy Latcham is producing under his contract with Hasbro’s entertainment arm eOne. Brian Goldner of Hasbro is also producing. Hasbro / eOne and Paramount are jointly producing and financing, with eOne distribution in the UK and Canada, and Paramount distribution in the rest of the world.

Page, which is configured to host Saturday Night Live this weekend, he starred as the beloved Duke of Hastings in the drama produced by Shonda Rhimes which, according to the streamer, was watched by over 82 million accounts in its first month, making it the biggest service series of all the times. His previous feature credits include Deadly engines and period romance Sylvie’s love.

The page is represented by CAA, the UK Artists Partnership, Mosaic and Ziffren Brittenham.
