All-American DB Terrion Arnold commits to Alabama

Terrion Arnold is rolling with Maré Crimson. Nick Saban and the company won a commitment to five-star security 247Sports on Wednesday afternoon, joining a class that has already registered itself as the class with the highest rating in history.

The Catholic product Tallahassee (Fa.) John Paul II chose Alabama over Georgia and Florida, marking the end of a contested recruitment that involved more than just the three finalists mentioned at one point or another.

Arnold is the sixth defender in Tide’s 2021 class, joining the five-star cornerback Ga’Quincy McKinstry, the best junior college cornerback in Khyree Jackson, two defensive Top247 defenders in Devonta Smith and Kadarius Callowayas well as four star security Kaine Williams.

“My relationship with the coaching staff, how they have a plan for me and I hope to build the defense around me,” said Arnold on several occasions about why Crimson Tide was among his favorites.

Safety technician Charles Kelly led the attack, along with the coach of external linebackers Sal Sunseri, as well as Nick Saban taking an active role in the final stretch, recruiting elite talents for Tuscaloosa. But it is not just in football that Arnold will showcase his talents at T-Town. He will also play basketball, along with fellow Tide signer Ga’Quincy McKinstry. You can credit basketball assistant Bama Bryan Hodgson and head coach Nate Oats to contribute to Tide’s pitch as well.

At 6 feet and 180 pounds, Arnold is ranked No. 3 in safety and No. 50 overall in the country, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

With the addition of Arnold, Tide’s score jumps to 327.91, further consolidating the AU’s position at the top of recruitment history.

Here is Arnold’s assessment of 247Sports, which compares him to a former AU standout Xavier McKinney.

“An uneasy athlete with a compact build. He has a natural leap in his steps, which probably stems from his basketball background. He plays with a low center of gravity. Elite when it comes to changing directions, having one of the launch times fastest shots in his class. He spent much of his high school career aligning himself with safety, but athletic and long enough to work out on the edge. High IQ football player who reads and reacts quickly. Smooth control and skills with the ball. You’ll benefit from playing in a hurry. Physical at the point of attack and enjoy contact. Technically good when it comes to tackling and has improved in that area over the years. doubled as a receiver at the level of preparation and was a threat to dial almost every time his number was called one of the most complete defensive perspectives of the back in the 2021 cycle that seemed a man playing alongside boys in one of the Sunshine State’s low er ratings. You will need to adjust to the speed of the university game and continue to perfect your craft, but you have the skill set to emerge as a caliber player from all conferences for a Top 25 program. The versatility of position just makes you more valuable. Intended to play on Sundays. “
