Cecily Strong may have opened this weekend Saturday Night Live with a solid new impression from Marjorie Taylor Greene, but she was defeated during “Weekend Update” when Beck Bennett eliminated his Mike Lindell.
Joining Colin Jost to talk about his Twitter exile after continuing to promote false electoral fraud conspiracy theories, Lindell tucked in his MyPillow while rejecting claims that it helped inspire Capitol rebels.
“Well, wait a minute, Buck-o, I didn’t inspire any uprising, anyone!” Lindell declared. “I’m just an ex-American crack addict who became a pillow CEO and an advisor to a former president.”
He also swore that he would not actually meet Trump on “martial law” earlier this month. “I just suggested that the military overthrow the government,” he said. “And if this is not democracy, I don’t know what is!”
From there, Lindell admitted that he gets all of his best political ideas from his MyPillow. “What is it, MyPillow?” he asked. “Really? Wow! MyPillow said that Dominion overtook the voting machine’s algorithms so that China could exchange it for Biden, with Hugo Chavez, Kim Jong-un and Chrissy Teigen!”
He concluded the part by reading a confused section of his memoirs, “What are the odds? From Crack Addict to CEO ”before yelling at Jost:“ My brain is on fire ”and then, to top it off,“ Jane Krakowski is obsessed with me! “
It was the most hilarious moment of the episode – until Bowen Yang and Kyle Mooney appeared as Fran Lebowitz and Martin Scorsese.
